3-D cross-eye stereogram of a dung fly blowing a bubble. To view- stare at the pair of pics, slightly defocus your eyes and then cross them until a 3rd image forms in between the other two, the relax your eyes to stabilise the 3-D image.

Really good and different! For those who have trouble, I zoomed out to about 35% of original size - I was then able to focus quite nicely.

Cool. Not only is the image interesting but one gets to play with it visually. Very neat.

I`m not sure but think that it is trying to concentrate the nectar in the liquid by exposing it to the sunlight, this isent fact ;) ...

Action man,
You may be right about the concentration idea - that's what bees do, but the only comments I've seen about this fairly common behaviour in bees is that it "aids digestion".
I actually put forward a different idea that it might be a way of speeding up digestion or speeding up the warming of the fly by exposing the drop to sunlight- I've only ever seen flies doing this in direct sunlight. The drops can vary in colour from colourless through tea coloured to dark coffee colour.
