A great capture. Makes me want to know more about what's taking place, who these folks are, etc.

It does me too. In fact, your caption just adds to my interest.

I was moved by the shot -- so I asked privately if this shot was set up -- the answer is no it was not --popster can share further about what is happening here -- but my personal comment:

It is a very honest moment -- and you took the opportunity to shoot it -- without "oversentimentalizing" it -- and without intruding. Not an easy feat -- very nice photo.

It was taken at a departure ceremony for the 2/183 Cavalry. They left for Mississippi 6/10 and will ultimately go to the "Big Sandbox". I was there as my son is one of the soldiers deploying. My daughter actually spotted this and told me. I do not know who they are but I know what Dad was feeling. I once had to talk with my son before I deployed for Desert Shield/Storm in 1990. This time my son had the talk with me.
