Shot using an off camera flash with an umbrella, my birthday present. I'm still learning, but was kinda pleased with the results from our impromptu session.

Aside from the distracting background the shot is not too bad, not too bad at all.

How many flashes do you have to work with?

By the way everyone has a better side of their face to be shot from, as an experment try flipping the pose and lighting and see what that looks like.

I have two flashes, a Vivitar and a Canon speedlight, but I only have one umbrella and stand. I bought a Cactus wireless flash trigger for the Vivitar, but I don't have a receiver for the Canon. I also am going to buy a flash bracket for the camera. I tried the other side (moving the flash rig to the right) and wasn't as pleased with those results. I also plan on buying another umbrella and stand to set up the other flash. Thanks for your comments.

Lovely shot. However, if she's anything like my daughter, she won't like the image. ;)
