 | Dnns - It's the 70-200mm f/4L
I have some more, but I think I'll post them in a thread instead.... hey mods · » Saturday October 2nd, @05:43PM

 | Is F4 enough for sports/action? hey mods · » Saturday October 2nd, @05:47PM

 | Sure it is. Look at my shutter speed and aperture. I probably only needed 1/800 or 1/1000 sec to freeze the action, and I was stopped down to f/6.3.
I could have easily done this with a 2x teleconverter, rendering this lens an f/8 for its widest aperture. I would have lost autofocus, but that's beside the point here.
An advantage of having a faster lens would be the shallower DOF, making the image pop a little bit more. I stopped down a litte bit because I wanted some more DOF beucase I don't have servo AF and because I still wanted a shallow enough DOF to make it pleasing to the eye. This one is a perfect example of that. Many of my other images were focused on the fence behind the players. I don't think this would have happened with servo AF or with a better AF system (on the camera, of course). The 70-200mm f/4L is lightning fast to focus in almost any lighting condition.hey mods · » Saturday October 2nd, @06:18PM
