A street performer.

Very neat idea, I love the expression on the guys face. He almost reminds me of Mr. Miyagi!

I think you might be better off going into a tighter crop, maybe chop the leg's up to the stomach area and the right elbow, kinda force the viewer into looking right at the subjects face. Did you shoot this around town?

i love it...the expression is one of musical bliss....his position is very interesting, and adds to the comp IMO...i would like to see more of his legs to be honest...to get the whole scope of how he's positioned there, in the middle of it all, playing his music...wonderful capture

Thanks Guys! He was actually playing for my kids. Bobby gave him a tip and informed him that he just got a violin and was going to start taking lessons. He then played for them and even let Bobby strum the violin. This was on Randolph and Michigan. This performer usually hangs around the Art Institute.

The first shot is superb, although I'm not a big fan of the effect you used and I think I agree about the legs. Also, the white reflection above his head is a little of a distraction. I'd suggest cloning that out. The first color image tells the story. The joy of the musician jumps off the image and the curiosity of the children can be seen clearly. That's my favorite of the three.

Very nice candid shots BC, I especially like the first color photo, the violinist appears to be fascinated with Bobby. :)

Your choice and capture of this subject is CLASSIC! Just for kicks, try bringing out the face a bit more with lightening and a wee bit of added contrast;0) A pic like this one could easily fit in with National Geographic's portfolio of human interests around the globe. You really have an eye for photo opportunity!

A portrait of that man would be stunning in B&W...

Dito. All black and white with the backgroud softened a bit.
