Granite like reliability.

FiOS: Absolutely rock solid performance and reliability.

Their support has been good overall. The phone reps sometimes can be slow, but they get the job done. It's clearly a complex system.

My only complaint is the price, though the quoted price includes TV service. OK, a second minor complaint is that one must keep the Verizon supplied router in the network in order for the TV to work correctly. I would prefer to supply my own router.

I have had various cable modems (all Actiontec of course) over the years. The current one (G-1100) is excellent.

The main thing that strikes me about the service is that we have had one outage in the past decade, due to a lightning strike. One. And it was resolved within a day without a truck roll to my home.

Heres how to use your own router

You can get a Moca Adapter such this one »rb.gy/x6rlq0. Hook it your FIOS spitter and the router of choice with an ethernet cable. connect your router to the ONT via Ethernet. This will allow you to get guide data to your set top boxes and not need the verizon router. I did this in Boston and it worked great. I use the same Moca adaptor I used there with Spectrum here in Florida with my Tivo.

With MOCA, youll have problems if the boxes are rebooted, nor will they get the latest firmware. You can just buy Verizons router outright, or get it cheap on ebay.
