Contract speed is 1Mbps for $59.99, rather expensive but on par with other ISPs offering same bandwith in Puerto Rico. They use DHCP...

My experience with Liberty is very erratic.. everything may work fine as promised for a couple of months and then everything goes down...bandwith shrinks as low as 25Kbps at peak hours (7:00p.m.-11:00p.m.) and sometimes they can be down for as long as 2 days.

You have to make as much as 8 service calls sometimes for any problem in the area to get fixed and customer service personnel and pc technicians are not that knowledgeable...you know more than them when they go to your house to cover a service call...last time they switched me to a static IP address in order to solve a problem that lasted from November 26th, 2006 up to December 29th 2006. That seemed to solve the problem for now, but they went down again for 2 days 3 days ago, and the service was down in many areas they cover in Puerto Rico. I have to stick with them because DSL is not available in my area and Onelink (previously Adelphia) does not cover my area nor does Satellite or Centennial wich has instant internet (a modem/router thru wireless signals)

Just like this guy I feel about their services, first month everything was great, now the service sucks, network problems, (LAG of 30 seconds)!!! What is going on there who known’s? No service for hours from between the hours of 7:00 pm to 12.30 am all most every day. I went there once they give some number to call where the guy doesn’t know what I am talking about or girls, to be more specific they don’t want you talk or talk to you jijijij. My Contract with them is about 40 dollars a moth for their services kind of expensive for the amount of speed I get or service. I can’t really switch the service because the telephone company here call Puerto Rico Telephone company what you to put a phone line that cost 30 dollars a mouth, plus the DLS is about 60 dollars (WOW) www.libertypr.com has about 43,000 broadband costumers in Puerto Rico Internet subscribers, I think we need to complain more so this companies don’t abuse us more… XDDD. and still are money. plus I don't need to call them 20 times to get my service that i pay for.

this is about Liberty cable modem internet service in puerto rico. they treat you right the first 3 months then comes the capping and all the problems{sinc. problems, pages hanging, horrific pings, interruptions in service regularly and download speeds that with a well adjusted modem you can get the same speeds). what kicks me in the rear is when you call for service it seems that they go through the "repeat to customer " manualand always say the same things. they blame it on line problems or your setup when any good tech knows that they are cheap with their speeds andd cap everyone to the gills and it seems its at peak hours when the problems get worst as though they have too many acounts on each server(cram them in there!)i run xp sp2 debian linux and puppy. people in puerto rico need to educate themselves and they'll find that PR has one of the worst internet services cost per speed in the world. we pay more or less. this needs to change. this is not a third world contry (anymore) people need to start complaining to the goverment and to these abusive companies who exploit a country financially by manipulating prices to their needs. well not my blood! i'm at diablito@libertypr.net i speak from experience. but sorry to say, dmax is worst! this is my nightmare. i'm stuck with it. hope to wake up one day in internet heaven or at least on par with the rest of the world but i think planet x will come by and destroy the planet earth before that happens. anyway i'm gonna keep surfin' so see you people. HELP!

Liberty's awful service

Where do you live on the Island that satellite doesn't reach you? I had satellite from 2002 to 2006, I switched to Liberty. Liberty has turned into a nightmare. Satellite was a lot more reliable but the limits imposed on downloads and the ping times due to lag was awful.

hello everyone, Well I was about get Liberty but I saw what you guys say and I'm changing my mine, I really Don;t know... I'm looking for something fast to play Online and well Dmax got this 2048Kbps/512Kbps thats the most high offer but I think like for only 2048Kbps for 84.95 box a month , Its a little high huh lol, and well I been looking if I can get T1 connection , I know is gonna be like 100 or 300 box a month but after they supply a good service Im alright , I found this Company called caribe.net they supply T1, and im calling tomorrow for price, but anyways Thanks to let me know about Liberty , by the way the reason why Liberty sometime had problems is because have too much clients and too much areas too supply thats why it goes show the connection though. Well LAter.

los leo a ustedes y es como si me estubiera leyendo yo mismo !
El problema que tenemos es que ninguna agencia regula eso en PR, Ni la junta reglamentadora, ni DACO, NADIE !!!!
Cdo hayan leyes q les exigan entonces podemos joder a Liberty.

Liberty Cable Apesta

Soy Cliente de Liberty of PR hace ya 3 años y les puedod ecir con certeza que es la gran mierda. El servicio ellos te lo ponen muy bonito 100 veces mas rapido que dial up 10 veces mas rapido que dsl y blah blah blah blah pero enla realidad sigue siendo un servicio deficiente uno de los mas inextables y para jugar online es totalmente imposible. Solo puedes jugar en determinadas horas y despues de las 12 am para que almenos obtengas un ping de 100 que te deje jugar sin tanto lag.

En mi caso soy usuario de 512k y si logro bajar a 30k transfer rate es un milagro cuandos e supone que baje almenos unos 60k pero que se le puede hacer llamarlos es como perder el tiempo todo lo resuelven con un reatart al modem y ya. Aveces te dejan esperando hasta 30 minutos y no cojene l telefono demostrando su ineptitud y deficiencia. Se olvidan de nosotros que practicamente somon los que les pagamos el sueldo pagando por un servicio pesimo pero ya algun dia caera alguna ley y entonces si los vamos a joder por pillos.
