MichiganHere in Michigan Charter sold all of the old Analog networks that they hadn't upgraded or pretty much done anything to a small company. I wouldn't mind if they sold off the rest of this area, as CHARTER SUCKS. |

Benton ArkansasWord is they are selling the Saline County market here in Benton Arkansas. I went to CoBridge Comm when the news got out here and they have no real info as to what they even offer. I'm really curious what they are going to do here. Can't be any worse than what Charter is doing. Back earlier this year they ran a heavy cable across my back yard to the box that serves several houses in our neighborhood. And I had to fight them tooth and nail to get them to bury the cable. It took forever to get anything done. I was not a customer and they "could not find my location" due to not being in the system. But guess what, when my mower hit their cable they came out and finally buried it. But looking over the fence the cable is not buried in the back yards of the next two houses. Its covered in leaves on the back edge of their property. Such a sad company that Charter is. |

Not surprising. A friend in the middle of Birmingham had the same experience, except the cable ran right across the front of her yard, right across the sidewalk leading up to her door, and stayed that way for years, despite her attempts to get them to come out and bury it. I told her to get a weed eater and "accidentally" cut it. I don't think she did it, but I believe they finally came out and did something with it. |

Re: Michigansaid by hottboiinnc4:Charter won't upgrade the systems once they sell them. I'm well aware of that, but the remaining networks up here suck. Those are the ones I wouldn't mind seeing someone else pick up. |

Re: Benton Arkansasa shovel and about an hour...make a slit down the lawn and bury it...when they can't find it, it's their fault. |

it's not hard to find a burried cable they just kinda scan the ground. It would not be an issue for them. Which is why lawn mowers are a much more fun and satisfying solution to a problem when they refuse to address it. |

Re: MichiganMonroe doesn't have issues with their system so it must be your city/general area. So how can you claim that all of their systems in Michigan suck when you only can comment about your own? |

Re: Benton Arkansasthis sounds more like lazy employees, and not a company wide fault. In my area, if you request a buried cable instead of one hanging from the pole, they do it within a week, and they usually don't charge you anything. All nodes that have to be placed in customers lawns get a heavy discount for the inconvenience and ugly lawn box(its rare to get one in your yard here), and all cables that have to be run thru a yard to reach another customer will always be buried because someone sued charter up here for tripping and falling over an exposed cable(there was no real injury, it was just a show to bury it or else). From my understanding, charter contracts out to do any kind of cable work(like major laying or burying) so its probably not a case of charters problem, its probably the company they hired to bury the cable is shit. |

CaliforniaMight as well sell off my area in California. we are the only area still with out HIS and stuck on basic cable. |

Re: MichiganI live outside of Monroe and service is pretty damned good. I recently switched from DirecTV and the TV service is surprisingly close to what I had with DTV.
It's very price competitive and way better than the picture quality of Comcast. |

i know someone that live just out side the city of Monore too and they're service is just as good as DirecTV and Dish in terms of picture quailty and has a higher up time for Internet than U-Verse FTTH there. |

WisconsinCharter, please sell ALL of your Wisconsin systems!!! You don't update or upgrade them, you don't build out, and basically, you suck as a rural carrier. Sell it off and HOPEFULLY the new owner won't so some of the DUMB things you have done.
My favorite is what you did to my street. Ran cable from both ends past EMPTY fields right up to where the houses start.....then you STOPPED. The best was that you asked ME to pay YOU $20,000 to bring it me after you ran it further to NOBODY for free! Nucking Futz!!

Re: Wisconsinbuilding out? who is actually building out their systems these days besides WOW? I don't see Comcast out expanding their footprint into new areas as people want to see nor do i see Time Warner doing it. Expanding costs $$$ and nobody is doing that; especially as an over builder.
And where they ran it was probably the end of their contract to provide service to the area and is a common issue. |

Re: MichiganReally? Dang!! Toss out all those polling companies and metric data collecting organizations out there.. hotboiinnc said that Charter in Monroe MI doesn't have issues with their system AND their quality is the same as DirecTV...
I'll call all my family in Monroe and tell them to ditch DirecTV and go back to Charter.... what a HORRIBLE mistake they made. I'll be sure to let them know that I saw someone online who knows someone that lives just outside the city and said so.
....So, are you REALLY going to make such a bold statement.. again? Do you have data to back up your claims? |

CoBridge who?Generally I am fine with Charter as a ISP, but their so-so on the cable side.
Given we know ZERO about CoBridge, I would seriously hold back hoping they buy Worcester MA system. Its not like you have any ideas of their offerings to their current customers. Who knows, they might be charging $50 for 1.5Mb line with 50GB monthly limit. This isnt like another big boy established company taking over, their will be certain caos in the transformation period going from a startup to having 36 system. Are you kidding me?
Trust me, we known how its like in NH, VT,ME with the whole Fairpoint deal. I rather have Cablevision or some company atleast mid size instead. |
