So What's The Point?

"Streampix will cost users an additional $5 a month, but like so many cable industry anti-cord cutting initiatives (TV Everywhere), Streampix will only be offered to users who subscriber to Comcast cable TV."

I guess comcast doesn't mind the cord cutters. Charging $5 on top of Cable TV and Internet. Isn't this why people dump cable, because of the price? Comcast=Stupid.

Agree!

Streampix is a waste.. I just trialed their demo, and its as much of a joke as their old fancast service. 0 points!

lacking

jump sitting here playing with StreamPix and can't really tell the difference between this and what was previously offered. The service wasn't prominently featured on the xfinity tv landing page, only after clicking "Networks" and noticing the previous Preferred Collection had been rebranded. I knew this was the case, but I would have assumed it being more prominently featured or even have a separately designed url

I tried to watch Ghostbusters, only to be greeted with a notice that the movie was no longer available. I'm guessing they just reclassified movies that were already available on the site under the StreamPix brand.

Comcast are crooks; Adelphia 2.0

I wish a massive pot-hole would form under all of the Comcast offices and they would just fall into a void somewhere.

Reality Check

I feel like I’m just adding another shadow post to the rest on the forum today. I am finding it difficult to understand why after this long Comcast would launch Streampix and even consider the release an aim against Netflix or “TV everywhere” for that matter. It’s a service that is only available to their customers so that takes the Netflix competition out of the equation. Dish’s TV Everywhere™ is offering me live unlimited access to all my programming and DVR content via my sling adapter. To me when I take out my iPad in a foreign city on a business trip for Dish with my free Dish Remote Access app providing the access and watch any channel I want that’s “TV Everywhere”. It’s unfortunate that this new service is aimed at customers who would drop cable for Netflix given the limitations.

Epic

This is gonna be awesome. So many more movies than netflix. And if you work for comcast its free. Its cheaper than netflix and you get a better variety.

Sooo, I just got a new blu-ray

And I'm having issues with getting the Netflix set up through my Comcast router. Should I not bother to call Comcast?
