Price is not enoughOne of the lines I manage is from an MVNO that rides on the Sprint network. It's not unlimited use, but for what we do use, is far less than $60/month. Have to say they really need to work on upgrading their coverage first though. If you're in an area that Sprint has upgraded, it's fine. Not so good out in the boonies. |

Clarification? From the Sprint article: To improve data experience for the majority of users, throughput may be limited, varied or reduced on the network. This could mean almost anything . Anybody know any details? |

hmm price war between tmobile and sprintShould be interesting how it plays out. If they do things right they will both benefit as will us customers and potential customers. With a small amount of luck other carriers will get in on the action. |

Unlimited data? Really?Unlimited data? Really? So if a subscriber tethers a Sprint phone to a laptop they can use as much data as needed for $$60/month? How about if you use one of those data card modems? What about a Sprint branded laptop?
Oh, that is not what you meant? How come? There are top of the line smart phones that have more computing power than some of the old desktops and laptops people use. A byte is a byte. A byte of voice is the same as a byte of a static photograph or of a text document.
Sprint, please stop using the word unlimited. You have never intended to actually allow your customers to use unlimited data. |

Re: Clarification?said by tito79:That means throttle But their network already acts like it is throttled (at least in my area). How much worse can they make it? Reduce it from its current 56K performance to the old 28.8K standard???? |

Still don't get it!They still don't beat T-Mobile, You still have to pay extra to tether where as it's included w/T-Mobile. It's the extras with At&t, Sprint & Verizon that get you, so go with T, they'll do ya right!! |

Still requires a locked-down phone from Sprint and a credit check?I can go to any T-Mo store and get a SIM card for at most 10$ (and often their SIMs are only 1$, or sometimes are 100% free online); then their 30$/mo 5GB@4G plan to try their network out for 30 days; total out-of-pocket-no-questions-no-credit-check-or-contract cost is 40$ at most. Plus T-Mo actually has a great network in bigger cities.
I bet Sprint still wants people to go through all the bullshit of buying a new Sprint-specific and unlockable phone, with near zero resale value. When they start selling SIMs (e.g. to use with my own unlocked Nexus 5), then they might have some potential advantage in certain areas where T-Mo signal is weak. Until then, even 60$ for Sprint's crappy network is a rip off, since you also have to buy a locked-down Sprint-specific and non-resellable phone from them, even though Nexus 5 is fully capable of seeing their signal.
Thanks, but no thanks. |

Doesn't mean muchWhen you are guaranteed unlimited data. They should have kept the unlimited data for life with this plan. Otherwise, you are just waiting the day for the rug to be pulled out from under you. |

EncouragingIt's encouraging to see Sprint dipping a toe into the competitiveness water, but it's still not nearly enough to persuade us back from T-Mobile.
They've got a long way to go before they'll accomplish that. If T-Mobile improves their service penetration and coverage enough, it'll probably become neigh impossible.

Re: Unlimited data? Really?I don't know about now, but from 2011-2013 I used a Sprint WiMAX (Nexus S 4G) and LTE (Galaxy Nexus) as my primary internet - used 35-40GB month, and never heard any complaints. |

Re: Price is not enoughYou can't go just by the MVNO though. i.e. Ting does not have data roaming. I switched from Ting and Sprint and now have much better data coverage. (previous there were many areas I had NO data coverage where I now get strong LTE). |

Re: Still requires a locked-down phone from Sprint and a credit check?BTW, it's also representative of how much people hate Sprint -- you'd think people would be excited about a 60$ Unlimited option, but most comments so far simply resonate that it's too little, too late!
I'm a relatively happy T-Mo Unlimited 4G customer (grandfathered w/ 3GB of tethering), happily paying 70$/mo plus some corporate discount -- ~70$/mo total after tax and fees; this offer from Sprint means absolutely nothing to me! I wouldn't switch to Sprint even if they'd offer this at 50$/mo, due to all the restrictions and fine print they place everywhere, plus Sprint's network is pretty famous for being the worst.
I can only applaud them for putting PR pressure on T-Mo plus AT&T / Verizon; but the offer itself is quite useless to me. |

new customers only..As a current Sprint customer this is useless as these price cuts and deal almost never apply to current users.
Would love to see a price reduction in my bill but I'm not holding my breath. |

Re: Unlimited data? Really? It's clearly a phone plan, not a data only plan that would be required for USB wireless cards and hotspots. You may have a point on the tethering depending how it is worded. |

Re: new customers only..yes. And mobile broadband plans are the same as they were. And there are so many if's and's and but's.
All seems like a pretty half assed price war to me.
I was hoping we would actually see permanent, across the board, price cuts available to new and present customers for all devices with no claims of unlimited that we know are BS.
How about this:
20GB month for $65-70. No device connect fees, different pricing to connect depending upon device , tethering fees, different pricing for new or present customers, temporary discounts. You all claim you want to move to pay per use. It shouldn't matter what you use it for, or what device you use it with, whether an android phone or mifi or whatever. I don't pay different rates for electricity when I connect my tv vs connecting my toaster.
Just more endless game playing. Masayoshi Son, you claim you want to transform the american market. Get control of this bull$@#t and start shaking up the market. I hope this isn't an indication of what we can expect in future from sprint.
And t-mobile I'm ready to leave verizon when you get your 2g areas upgraded to 4g. I hope you follow through on your plan to do so by mid 2015. |

A catchT-Mobile one has 5GB sharing with laptop included. In addition, T-Mobile allows you to use unlocked phone as long as band supported. |

What about "add a line" customers? What about current customers who add a line (ported over from another carrier) to their family My Way Unlimited accounts?
Does the newly added line qualify for the Unlimited For Life Guarantee? |

Re: Still requires a locked-down phone from Sprint and a credit check?Tmoblie works if it works in your area. Around here, sure you get a decent signal in the city, but drive somewhere, forget it. They closed all the tmobile stores around here because their service is so bad. Sprints is not much better, but at least I get at minimum 3G every where I go. |

Re: Price is not enoughTravelguy did not say he was having an issue with LTE he said its not unlimited use and with sprints MVNO's they get throttled before sprint's direct customers do. He also said its not good for out in the boonies and without roaming he is probably right. If you Google Sprint rural alliance you can find a list of LTE partners but the MVNO's don't have access |
|

big whoop? How does this do any better than their $50 - $55 plan with shrinkage on Boost Mobile? Or the MVNO Virgin Mobile's unlimited data plus blocks of minutes/txts?
Sprint needs to rethink what they consider a "GOOD DEAL" and disruptive pricing is REALLY all about..
Props to Tmobile.. at least the hype with Sprint is moving them on price a bit.. |

Sprint Family PlanWe have 3 Sprint phones with unlimited data and with tax I pay $178/month, in our area we have Spark service and it is fast, 25/5 in the house quicker outdoors. Less than the $60 they are offering, we only have 1500 shared minutes but all calls to mobile phones are free and that's 96% of our calls. |

this plan.. is not a deal.2007 Sprint sold SERO plans at the greatest value in the industry. The price was $30/mo per line. In the plan all Sprint features were enabled. Direct connect, unlimited data, unlimited text, .. The limit was 500 minutes of voice during the weekday hours of 7am to 6pm. Everything unlimited at night, mobile to mobile, and on weekends ..
Advanced features like Sprint music and GPS and car navigation were included free of charge. The phones were also heavily discounted beyond the normal rates, and perks were offered.
Tell me how this plan which ended in 2009 or 2010 doesnt rock the socks off all the current plans?
Additionally I got a data card only plan for $39.99 and it was completely unlimited through SERO.
(Since Sprint canceled SERO, they have engaged in price fixing and jacked the cost of service up basically going along with the entire industry. Almost all the industry has seized the opportunity to raise rates on service that used to average far less, a total power grab just to make more money for investors at the expense of value and service.) |

Phone not included. Add $25 a month to $60!not such a good value when you have to buy the phone full price, or have to pay $25 a month on a stupid payment play for an S4.
that hikes the play to $85 a month.
FREE/subsidized phones are not allowed on this program. |
