Comcast finally made enough mistakes that my service will be turned off September 11th and I don't have to pay the bill (they're going to pay it themselves). »[CustSvc] Comcast: I get the last laugh
I will obviously be away for a while as a result. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Thanks to DSLReports.com for allowing me to tell my story (and rant a little to blow off some steam too).
(you should read 1st before commenting if that seems "odd" to you)
of that $99.95 for a year of Playstation Now. Service is a godsend for gamers working on the road. But for now I am taking advantage of the nice weather and making a trip to Vermont this weekend.

You could go to Verizon Wireless and get a home broadband router. It does have wireless like caps but will provide basic web connectivity for web surfing and e-mail.
Bought the Amazon Echo (which was my delayed package) and most of the YouTube reviewers had it on the kitchen counter so I put it there. Pretty cool device, while it has a lot of features I wish it was compatible with Apple Music and and could control various cable and satellite boxes.
I used to watch Star Trek, The Next Generation when I was in second grade. Now that science fiction is reality.
Valuations are quite high, today is a correction to "excessive exuberance"....better a little dip now then a really big, post rate rise big dipper. N.Korea is a real problem, the interest and the election don't have to be more than a blip

I am no fan of Comcast, I actually despise the company, but I hope that your credit score gets jacked after screwing with them.
People like you are the reason why service prices are high.
This is why we can't have nice things at reasonable prices.

I'm one of the few people you'll know that has been trying to avoid getting a smart phone (since forever) and I really need the speed and stability of a wired connection. I also do a lot more than just checking e-mail (Netflix, gaming)

Read 1st, then post.
Comcast is the one who was screwing with me. They're the ones who messed up my billing. They're the ones who mistyped SSN.
1) Called 1-800-Comcast 2) Called billing department directly 3) Called retention department directly 4) Live chats with Comcast 5) Comcast on Twitter (both public and DM) 6) Faxed Comcast 7) e-mailed Comcast 8) Walked into 2 local Comcast offices.
6 months = 1/2 a year experiencing the billing issue. (since April 2016) 14 months = 1 year + 2 months experiencing the SSN issue. (since July 2015)
Filed a complaint with The FCC (twice) Filed a complaint with The FTC Filed a complaint with The State Attorney General
I did not screw Comcast... Comcast screwed themselves while screwing me.
Not being a smartass here but I just don't understand the appeal of such a device, maybe you could explain. Is it really easier than saying "Google Now" or "Hey Siri" to your phone?
Now when they come up with the food replicator I'm in
It actually is easier than saying Hey Siri as you don't have to find your phone or hold your phone to talk to it. I especially like the hands free concept of the device where I can use it anywhere in the room. With Siri I'd have to locate my phone, hold it and then say the command.
I also think this has better voice recognition as I have a deep voice and a slight speech impediment due to my disability. Siri doesn't recognize what I say half the time (like Siri recognizes when I say blue it registers blow) but so far I'm impressed with this device.

Making new back ups of 3 of my systems, XP, Win7, W8.1. They're all dual boot with LinuxMint or Fedora, so 6 back ups altogether. Busy wknd but when I'm done I'll sleep that much easier. Have a safe and fun weekend all! (btw say a prayer tomorrow for our fallen brothers and sisters in memory of 9/11. Thanks for the reminder jorcmg.)
Ha! Google has major issues with my Southern accent. Sometimes it is just easier to type it out, in the end, as opposed to correcting all the errors it makes. Then again, it may be thrown off with the fact it is a precise Southern drawl, due to my Aspergers.
The remberences started too early. Something to generate TV and web click advertising revenue on a Friday, two days prior to the actual date. I am disgusted and disappointed.

I agree about the starting early but it IS better than what the networks usually do: Halloween stuff in April; Christmas stuff in both July and some other weird month. Pearl Harbor remembrances NOT in December .. etc, etc.

Thank you for that. I can only imagine the terror felt by those in the planes and the buildings, as well as those who didn't know what happened to their loved ones.

I have high functioning Autism and the speech impediments that come with it.
I have a unlimited grandfathered data plan on my line for the first time ever my cousin went over his 4 gig a month lot. He normally used around 1-2 gig. Could this be a coincidence? Good article and info just the same.
We go the kitty a nice bed, but she can always be found sleeping in this basket full of old newspapers. She's warmed up to us quite a bit since last week. The dogs (two cocker spaniels) are still fairly jealous, but they get along as well.
If you live near Minneapolis, the the Commemorative Air Force Wing museum is having their biannual hanger dance. It's a 40s and 50s themes affair with a costume contest and dancing with live music. Should be a good time.
