Promo

Problem with a promo is it could go away at any time, the company's word is nothing.

I wish they would offer a 3 line for $100 unlimited plan, as in actual plan not a promo for both existing and new customers.

I'm happy with T-Mobile, the network keeps getting better and better in my area. AWS was turned on off of my home tower and speed is great, consistently 20+Mbps. It's the only tall tower around for some distance so huge sectors.

Re: Promo

I don't think it will just go away, they actually say in the press release that the line is there as long as you keep your current line count (as it not remove any lines).

If you change your plan, I imagine they may require you to start paying for the additional line--but they won't randomly just take it away.

Promo meaning promotional period. Once you have it. It's grandfathered.

Re: Competition is great....

I'm glad they are. VZW brought back ULD because of the competition and finding out TMo is gaining on them. Unfortunately, VZW does not want me to keep my employee discount .

Really compelling ....

The rates are coming down fast enough that it truly is starting to become really compelling. If they can drop the 3G bands and rehome the 800-900 bands for 4G then they could be in great shape for punching signal into houses!

T-Mobile only ever had 1900MHz originally, then bought 1700/2100 for 3G (most has now been put to LTE and 3G shifted to 1900)

T-Mobile has a small chunk of 700MHz, but it's only 5x5 to increase indoor coverage.

They need to get some of the upcoming 600MHz licenses for true indoor coverage

Too bad I have more than 3 lines.

Unless they're also willing to give me lines 4 and 5 free, I can't afford to switch to ONE from my current grandfathered plan.

Virtually every T-Mobile customer with at least two voice lines can get an additional line for free after bill credits.

From the release.

Note it says at least two.

Still, to move all 5 of my current lines to ONE would be $160/month rather than the $100/month I currently pay.

It is not just for One, so you could still be eligible. I'd give a call to see if I were you--nothing to lose.

Signed up for this promo yesterday

My 2 kids were on the $30 "unlimited" Walmart T-Mobile plan which gave them each 5GB LTE(throttled to 2G after), Unlimited text and 100 mins voice. The monthly bill was actually $33.45 each after taxes and fees. I was on a cheap MVNO 2GB plan costing about $20. We now all have unlimited for $100. The 3rd line is free as long as the other 2 lines remain active and the account is in good standing. There is also a $10 kickback credit for any line which stays under 2GB, which mine likely will. So our bill most months will be $90. Basically the same as we were paying previously, but now the kids will be unlimited. Hard to beat. It's no contract, so we can always switch to another service later if we're not happy or if something changes. Our phones are unlocked and we own them, so we have lots of options.

Can't have you starting to actually erode their precious ARPU with those discounts!

You don't have to move to One. Simple Choice is eligible.

Re: Promo

I just switched from Simple Choice 2 unlimited lines for $100 + TAX ($112 ish total) to One promo for $100 INCLUDING TAXES and they threw in a 3rd line for FREE !!. So not only i save money, i also get a 3rd line!. I am very happy with T-Mobile right now. Yes their rural coverage is not as good, and building penetration is not great, but i almost never have an instance that i cant use the phone when i need it.

3 unlimited lines with 10GB tethering per line and HD video for $100 including taxes is a smoking deal.

And your plans do not expire, as long as you dont cancel the lines or change plans yourself.

All they have managed to do is piss me off!

I saw this in my email - with words that would rival the second coming of Christ! "T Mobile offers FREE LINE!". Upon reading it I thought to myself: Good! Now I can offer my 11 year old daughter her own line after all, I have five lines on my Simple Choice 10 gig/phone plan - and they say this is good for up to twelve lines! I called today only to find that my plan does not qualify - and if I changed it to their unlimited One plan (which I essentially have until March 2019) I'd still be paying more than I do now. They will let me add a tablet - but will only give me a ten dollar monthly credit for that. AND my wife told my daughter she'll be getting service for her phone, which means I'm going to disappoint her when I come home tonight. So T Mobile, all you wound up doing is pissing me off and making my daughter cry!

Not true! I have a Simple Choice plan. Five phones with 10gB/phone. They say the Simple Choice plan does not apply.

Nope. You're wrong. I was told both online and the phone that my 5 phone Simple Choice plan does not apply.

Sorry you must have got someone who didn't know what they were doing.

Per the tmobile website:

How do I get the free add a line promotion?
Starting March 1st, for a limited time only, anyone activating 2 unlimited lines on T-Mobile ONE, and existing customers with at least 2 voice lines on T-Mobile ONE or Simple Choice can get 1 additional line for FREE after bill credit. All free lines must be activated during the promotional period and you can keep the promotional pricing as long as you maintain qualifying service and line count. Customers may take advantage of this offer in addition to other offers and promotions, including 2/$100 and Carrier Freedom.
