Better than Charter's 4Mbit.

I wouldn't be surprised if they offered 1Gbps Download, but 4Mbps (or 5) upload.

Symetric DOCSIS3.1 speeds are coming faster that you may think.

Besides upgrading a whole state is a significant step forward... try that with att or google fiber.

Gigabit DOCSIS3.1 is for the masses telco fiber is for the rich and famous. »arstechnica.com/informat ··· y-finds/

I'd be curious what their business plans are compared to these.

Re: sounds nice

So far their Deluxe 150 is listed at $299.00 is the top listed offering.
I have Deluxe 75, discounted at $69.00 a month.
I doubt they will do much with the business plans yet, as it all depends on Google Fiber installs.

Waiting in the NE

My Comcast hub site has an Arris E6000 CMTS, so it's pretty much ready for the D3.1 upgrade. Would be nice to have D3.1 before next year available.

A uniform state-wide upgrade is a good sign that Comcast is getting the hang of deploying D3.1 in a wide area quickly. Perhaps footprint-wide* deployment is not as far off as originally thought.

If they rehab the pricing/speed offering I may jump back from the rapidly aging Verizon DSL. This was supposed to be a temporary switch for me but the price is right and VZ engineering worked hard to make me happy. The line now syncs up at the maximum stable speed rather than an artificial bean counter cap. $40-60/mo for 25Mbps off contract would get me back on Comcast.

one of the problem of iProvo/utopia/GF is the highly selective nature of the deployments.
AAND if I lived in one of the places still paying for one of THOSE deployments, especially if now owned by GF, I'd be a little bitter right now/soon when faster speeds are offered without the bad investment advise or costs

Thankfully besides Google Fiber there are now so many faster/cheaper smaller ISP alternatives to the huge non-customer friendly Comcast incumbent here in Utah that actually do offer true 1Gbps up/down though!

I am always amazed that they do not upgrade PHL Metro first. It's their HQ's market.

I think they kinda did. Philly was the first test market for D3.1

Hurry CenturyLink please

Click for full size
Here in Ogden and parts of North Ogden there are many trucks and DitchWitches going everyday. They are laying CenturyLink FTTH and have done a huge part of Ogden.

A lot of places on the map show 1000\1000 for CenturyLink and it keeps growing. I don't know if Comcast knows this and this is why they are pushing out Utah so fast.. But I have seen Comcast laying lines as well. I see the green boxes for Comcast going up just as fast as the fiber for Centurylink. I have been with Comcast since they took over ATT@home. I have not hand any issues and I am happy with the service. Only thing I don't like is the "installation" fee. It shows "up to" $500 for this service.

When I got 100Mb installed and paid $250 for the install. The guy that came knew less than I did and all he had me do was hook up the modem and log in. I ran all my own Quad RG6 cable. We had way to high of power +17dBmV on the line. We still do but it has gone down and with a -6dBmV attenuator it sits around +6dBmV and works fine and the SNR is still at 37dB..

So I don't want to pay $500 for the same thing. Send me the modem and sign me up. But nope. I bet I would have to deal with some one coming to my house and messing things up lol
