Editorial Advocacy Own Worst EnemyNot particularly helpful. (What's the hurry about "5G" anyway?) More China paranoia.

PC Mag Roll Down Windows TestingAgain a decidedly unscientific survey of a work in progress. Should be done in winter, when mmWave has fewer leaves to compete with. |

Well my 5G is certainly better than 4GI have ATT 5G on my phone and Speedtest completes its test at 121 Mbps down and 32.9 up. Certainly better than the 17 Mbps down and 4.3 up that I get on my ATT 4G hotspot in the same location. |

It always says speeds are upYet in my neck of the woods, LTE speeds have suffered a deterioration. How much depends on the carrier. AT&T is almost unusable in the middle of the city. Slow speeds but usable are typical of Verizon. T-Mobile still has somewhat decent speeds but not as fast as they used to be. Now all three carriers are fast if you go into the hill towns but in the city not so much. But I think it stands to reason that things count more where there is actually people. |

Re: Well my 5G is certainly better than 4GYou mean 4G LTE-A right? Nobody is on true 5G at this time. |

Re: PC Mag Roll Down Windows TestingI don't know... I think I rather see results that are done out in the field instead of a controlled environment, such as a lab. Besides, I'm sure there will always be some "cherry picking" of where these tests are done to get the best or worst results. Like how our major media outlets like to make adjustments to the news. IMO, I rather see how services perform during the worst conditions then in conditions where maybe 1% (my guess) of users will experience. aka PERFECT conditions. |

Major media outlets wtf? Not much cherry picking possible with so few tests.
Were all the cars identical? Were people trying to hold the devices in the exact same place relative to the window or was there some kind of apparatus?
Mainly though, summer is tower climbing season and these companies are all busy installing new stuff. Winter is business season. |

Re: Well my 5G is certainly better than 4GIn my neck of woods, my 4G speed can get 97 down, 13.6 up. Wait until the carriers in US learnt the trick done by Chinese carriers: lower the speed of 4G to make 5G stand out |

That depends on what true means. |

Re: PC Mag Roll Down Windows TestingThats the point. There are SOOO many particulars that you can subject these tests too. They can always find a reason to pass/fail a test. PC mag should stick with pushing over priced video cards and the latest/greatest overpriced monitors and stay out of the cell phone arena. |

IMy T mobile LTE speeds at my house deteriorated . they used to be much higher than my WiFi, especially on the upload side. Now I use wi fi at home exclusively. The LTE upload side deteriorated so badly that most of the day you could not make a video call. I wonder whether it is just an increased usage or whether they are moving spectrum from 4G to 5G. |

Re: Well my 5G is certainly better than 4GWell since it's 10g on mobile 25g on fixed no one has 5g regardless of marketing hype. Most of the us can't hit 4g standard in 2020 and those were delvelop in 1998 formalized in 2013. Most of the faux 5g carriers are touting is lte-a. Missing the mark most of the time on that as well. |

?? Disney gains after 'Mulan' fuels optimism about streaming growthMeh I saw Mulan...and what a waste of money it was lukewarm at best, very disappointed in this movie. It was bland and boring and had no emotion to it.
That said if Disney shares went up because of this garbage I daresay they will go right back down after people see this steaming pile.....frankly I think the Chinese sci fi "The Wandering Earth" was far better, more entertaining and had far more emotion. lol |

Re: PC Mag Roll Down Windows TestingUh, no. Lots of post-Sprint merger hardware installation, reconfiguring and new construction by all the carriers, etc., were happening during the fair weather test like activity described in the article. That's all. New systems need tweaking. Then judge. |

Re: ?? Disney gains after 'Mulan' fuels optimism about streaming growthMeh, stocks don't have any basis in reality, their movies doing poorly will probably just make it go up faster.
With it being pro-China and made with slave labor I'm sure the CCP will ensure it's successful over there no matter how bad it is. Don't mind the genocide going on in the background, that just adds some spice. |

Re: Well my 5G is certainly better than 4Glol does it bother you much? It started with 3G and it's ongoing. Tell me when we had true speeds or a solid network plan ever on a mobile plan without some trickery? Just face it the standard isn't set/real until they show it working in bulk. |

Re: It always says speeds are upI thought it was isolated. My LTE speeds on Tmo have decreased substantially. Interesting aside, I was visiting my mom who lives just 2 miles away and I tested my speed at 56 mbs whereas I usually test at 7 mbs at my house. I then tested at my moms house the next day and now down to 7 mbs at her house as well. |

Yes, T-Sprint is a HUGE change, but that's going to play out over the course of a couple of years. |
