What's an Earthlink member get that's so special? They didn't state the costs or prices, but if theres a discount for a bundled service, I'm there.
I'm moving, and I may just consider getting DSL with Earthlink and pick up Vonage. I was gonna get Vonage when I moved anyways. |

Can you smell that 6Mb service? |

So how's this going to work if your on dsl?
You still MUST have at least a single voice circuit/loop with local phone service as a minimum. So if you want VoIP to cover your long distance, other, seems that you still have some overlap.
Might be a better package if your on cable. |

Vonage rocks...Cya POTSThis is a great deal...even if you keep basic dialtone service...which you don't need if you spend a couple of extra bucks for SDSL...you can kiss those lameass local ZUM and LD charges good bye. |

Not if you get SDSL...which isn't that much more than ADSL. Even if you keep the dialtone service...you get to drop all the extra charges they get for local calls package and calling features like Caller ID...sometimes $7.50 a month extra for even simple calling features that you get for free with Vonage. |

The RBOC's would rather just have Vonage go out of business, rather than an easy out to deregulation, cuz they'd just have to compete anyways, right? |

This has open the door for regulation of all telecomunications companies offering voice on thier network. I want to see a so called clec set up their own satelite communication down link in a neighborhood and tap into the cable networks to provide me with a better flavor of programming and cheaper prices ! I am tire of these monopolies!
Anyone agree? |

Alright, all I'll listen to Leviathon. In all seriousness, Vonage operates completely different then the telcos. From what I remember (and correct me if I'm wrong), the telcos were regulated after many consumer complaints (back in the day) for either price, quality, or both.
I don't see many people complaining about Vonage... at least for the price they're charging. When Vonage goes out of its way to destroy competition, raises its prices, and drops quality, then its time to be regulated. |

No...it's because you're obviously trolling. If you have an issue with CLECs, VoIP or something...then state your case. But there is no justification for such moronic comments like tax VoIP. I'm done feeding you...enjoy life on ignore |

its not vonage it's the cable companies! They need to be regulated. Now they are competing on infrastructure and that is what powell was trying to do. But who cares lets regulate them all! I want more flavor with my cable |

Satelite not for broadband but for tv programming! I want a company sort of like at&t or wcom to com in and provide me with programming instead of these dam monopolies |

This wasn't about VoIP quality...this was about shilling for the RBOCs. There is no justification made for regulating and taxing VoIP...like you could regulate or tax it anyway. It was a textbook troll and I got hooked faster than a croppie. |

So far we haven't seen cable operators make any moves against VoIP...at least none that I've seen. Even Cox's DL caps have no effect on VoIP since even running VoIP full bore 24-7 you would even approach the 1GB cap. Even the monthly cap translates into 200 hours of VoIP. |

What's DTV and Dish Network? |
|

to Go Chargers7
I dont want to tax or regulate vonage, just the cable companies! I want to see more company flyers coming to my door asking me to get off of comcast and take their service and that their rates are much lower...>NO I want the competition on the cable for sure! |
|

CATV or internet? CATV is already regulated. The data services aren't which is why they're able to hammer people so easily with bundling penalties and the like. And taxing the cable company? The cable company isn't gonna get taxed...the end users are.
If you are unhappy with Comcast CATV get DTV or Dish Network. |
