Verizon, the nation's largest wireless carrier with 37.5 million subscribers, is leading the charge to deploy a national wireless broadband data network -- and it's no slouch when it comes to wire-line coverage, either. The largest of the "Baby Bells," Verizon has an estimated nine million miles of fiber crisscrossing the country, which it is now bundling into a single, national IP network under the name Enterprise Advance. This unprecedented combination of wire-line and wireless infrastructure could make Verizon an appealing choice for enterprises in search of a one-stop shop for broadband coverage.
Until now, the missing link has always been wireless. But with the rollout of a new technology called EvDO (evolution, data optimized), Verizon wireless users will enjoy burst data rates of 2.4Mbps and average data rates of 300Kbps to 600Kbps. |

Then just what Earthlink needs to compete more. They don't get more DSL and cable so they go for wireless. They're Sat systems by DirecWay must not be making them anymore money aww what a shame |

sighWhy expand more service into cities that already have there choice of atleast 1 cable provider, 2 or 3 dsl providers, probably 4 or 5 fixed wireless providers, and possibly some fiber?
Doesnt make any sense, stop being stupid earthlink and hit the rural folks. |

Re: Would be niceYes. This is over the cell phone networks, FYI. Not point-to-point 802.11 or whatever.
Which is good/bad depending on how you look at it. |

Re: sighWell...
The wireless service is in rural areas (Chico, Chester, Quincy, Portola, Quincy, etc...). The support is in Chico, CA, and this does not use cell towers, it is all 802.11b and g. I have the service, just not through earthlink. |
