Come on now....Would you guys settle on a name, scheme, picture etc and get your network in order? We have had a ton of dropped calls since June! |

More Orange?I haven't seen their new name/logo design, but if it's just more orange are they trying to be the same color as Vonage? Hmmm, maybe. If Vonage goes under and they gobble them up, they'll be no need to buy extra orange ink for sending their new customers junk mail. |

If I were a shareholder......I'd love the perpetual branding strategy because we all know that customers base their purchases on the company with the most researched logo. Customers tend to find features, reliability, support and pricing as not-so-important considerations. |

I've had tons of dropped calls too, and have encountered more dead spots in the last 3 or 4 months than I did in the first 12 or 13 months of me having their service. Their service is just awful now...for me. |

Is that really considerd Rebranding? So what, the background color is Orange. The name is still AT&T. Is that really considered rebranding? What's with orange and cell phones anyway? Cingular used an Orange color scheme and theres a UK provider called Orange. » www.orange.co.uk/Orange must be the hip color for wireless. Verizon's close with their Red and black, but hey those colors don't make orange! Oh and if the name is now AT&T why do phones still come with that STUPID cingular jingle ring tone. They should put that "All around the world" song by OASIS from the commercials if they really want to force a default ring tone. Better yet, make it sound like a phone when it rings. |

Looking on their coverage maps, the areas that even show "moderate" coverage we have zero signal. I have been working with them to do network tests, etc but nothing. My wife is ready to drop them soon. |

Get rid of the Deathstar LogoAnd then maybe people won't consider you such an evil company. |

Funnyquote: The company also recently dropped their "fewest dropped calls" marketing -- a good idea since it wasn't true.
Funny shit. |

A pig wearing lipstick is still a, well,....Unfortunately for AT&T, a firm recently found that customers actually liked the Cingular brand better.
No kidding.
After I fired ATTWS back in 2003 for atrocious customer service, it was a coin flip between Cingular and Verizon Wireless. The rollover feature won me over, but after four years of barely using any rollover minutes (partially my problem for being on the wrong plan), the uptick in dropped calls, and the rollback to the AT&T name, it's time to reconsider VZW.
The DeathStar will always be the DeathStar, I suspect. |

A Research Firm?Late last year, another research firm found people prefered the AT&T name over Cingular, thats why they switched. In fact, I remember reading that very story here on BBR...What IS going on here with these different firms. |

New marketing campaignsaid by at&t marketing :
The campaign will target both general and multicultural audiences and will also include online, print and outdoor advertising. In addition, an online extension of the campaign, the AT&T Souvenir Store, will launch in October. On the site, visitors will be able to enter the cities and states where they visit or have personal connections to create a unique name that identifies those locations as a group. For example, New York, San Francisco and South Dakota may become "New Sanfrakota." Visitors can then purchase their own personalized "Your Seamless World" merchandise, such as T-shirts and bumper stickers.
This is supposed to be "cool" and appeal to the youth market? How lame. |

Almost as lame as AT&T has been with their own name changes - seems as if that's what they really wanted to do - Hi, we're now SBATINGULAR! |

Otherwise, you'd see a much broader picture, one where consumers make INFORMED choices to go with another provider. In almost EVERY cellular market, there are at LEAST two carriers these days, so AT&T doesn't have a MONOPOLY on wireless anymore. |

Re: A pig wearing lipstick is still a, well,....said by ptrowski:Didn't AT&T buy Cingular, hence the "new AT&T"? No. SBC bought AT&T and changed their name to at&t. SBC (now at&t) was a 60% owner of Cingular. Bellsouth owned the other 40%. at&t bought Bellsouth and now owns 100% of Cingular so they then changed the Cingular brand name to at&t. |

said by N3OGH:I'm amazed you can keep all that straight. I applaud you... It's even more complicated than that. Back in 2003 Cingular bought AT&T Wireless. AT&T Wireless wasn't actually owned by AT&T. They were spun off as a separate company and paid AT&T a license fee to use the name. Once Cingular bought them they were forced to do a quick rebranding to get rid of the AT&T name. Now they got it back again after all the mergers and acquisitions have taken place. Confused yet??? |

Re: A pig wearing lipstick is still a, well,....said by ptrowski:Didn't AT&T buy Cingular, hence the "new AT&T"? Cingular was a joint venture between SBC and BellSouth. Some time ago, they bought AT&T Wireless, which was first financed by the old AT&T but then spun off as a totally separate company. Then, SBC and BellSouth merged, making Cingular a sole property of the newly-formed company. Eventually they gobbled up what was left of the old AT&T and adopted their name since they wanted to go global and both of their names weren't too well known outside of their service areas, but AT&T was. Finally, they re-branded their Cingular division back to AT&T to make it all be a part of the same company again. |

This is supposed to be "cool" and appeal to the youth market? How lame. It's called marketing strategy. The young people don't care and will spend their money on anything. Easier to make a quick buck off of them instead of spending more money trying to convince the older ones to change. |
