GNet BB0070 in 2516 Routed mode with PrimusI'm trying to connect my new modem, a GNet BB0070 with 4 ports in the back to Primus.
I am using the exact same settings that I do with Sympatico and with IStop, but the server will not give me an IP or DHCP information and just disconnects me.
I've called support, but they only support Windows XP Bridged mode 1483, but this is NOT what I want.
Any help would be great.
My present settings are:
WAN type - PPP over Ethernet user name password Data Encapsulation - VC VPI Number - 0 VCI Number - 35 Schedule Type - CBR |

Data Encapsulation should be LLC. |

Thanks, but I still cannot get a connection/IP/DNS servers via DHCP with Primus, but with other providers (Bell & IStop.)
Is there any way where Primus knows that I am using a Modem in routed mode? |

Greetings,
What you're saying is confusing. Are you saying that your modem's DHCP server won't lease ips to your local machines?, or PPPoE server won't let you authenticate?
The only thing that I can think of causing the latter would be that you're typing in your user/pass incorrectly. |

My problem is that the ADSL Modem will not obtain an IP or DNS using DHCP with the line card at the phone company.
There is no problems obtaining local ips on my computers attached to the modem.
I am definitely not typing in my user id and password incorrectly as I can type them in when I use bridged mode just fine. |

Greetings,
Thats where you're confusing things. Your modem doesn't use DHCP, it uses PPPoE. Whole different beast. |

Madwand. Primus will know if they care about the MAC address. In bridged mode, they see you NIC's address, in routed mode, your GVC modem's MAC address.

Is there really a difference in a MAC code between a router and a NIC? I don't think there would be a difference. |

If Primus expects a specific MAC address to connect, such as your NIC's MAC address, then you must configure your router to «clone» that MAC address. You have no problems connecting to other ISPs ? |

Naw, I seriously doubt that Primus is expecting any particular MAC address to connect because I have already used at least 5 with bridged mode.
The problem probably lies with the setup of the modem, or the software version.
I have a BB0060 that connects in Routed mode without a problem... but the Software provided with the BB0070 is different, and the configuration is totally different. Default settings work with other providers (Bell and IStop without a problem.) |

Well, you can get the latest manual and FW at ftp.gvc.ca\GVC\adsl.
