[BroadVoice] No bill for porting

I looked into VoIP a couple of weeks ago and decided to go with Broadvoice seen thank seem to have a great rating here. I have a problem though and maybe someone can help me.

My father controls and pays for the 2 landlines in my house. Service is provided by Verizon. I've asked him to call Verizon and split the bill, one line in his name and one line in my name. So that way we keep our same numbers and everything. I'll just be taking over the second line. This process has already started and will be finished this Friday.

Today I called BroadVoice and made an inquiry about the porting. The man said they won't be starting that feature until June. I said OK, however wanted to know what is involved with porting. He informed me that I need to produce a phone bill with my current provider [Verizon.] However since I am technically a *new* Verizon customer I don't have any paper bills to produce yet.

Does this mean I will actually have to wait a month for a bill? Is there anything else I can do to ditch Verizon a bit faster? I would rather not negotiate billing plans with Verizon and have to wait a month to jump ship.

I know Vonage won't accept the form if the NAME on the vonage account and Verizon do not match.

(at least this is what happened to my sister - until she changed the name on the Vonage account)

Yes I man on the phone informed me both names must match. So I wouldn't be able to send in a bill with my father's name. I wouldn't want to do that anyway. I'm different my number will be held hostage.

You could probably swing it by using a bill with your father's name on it if your father signs the porting paperwork as well. That's what I did with my LNP paperwork for Packet8 and it went through just fine...

Do any BroadVoice employees frequent this forum that can confirm that?
