TCP/IP Help with iMac

Hey Everyone... I'm fixing a network I set up some time back. Everything was disconnected and I just hooked everything back up. The only thing not working is the MAC desktop directly connected to the Linksys router. The 2 wireless PC's are working off the network fine. Can anyone tell me what I need to select on the TCP/IP screen. Here are my options:

Connect via: AppleTalk (Mac IP)
AOL Link
AOL Link Enhanced
Enternet Classic
Ethernet Built-in
PPP

and then

Configure: Manually
Using PPP Server
Using BootP Server
Using DHCP Server

Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the info... although when I attempt to pull up a site with IE it says: ERROR - No such device or address. Any ideas on that?

Go back to the network pane in Sys Prefs, are there any entries in the IP Address area?

It should be a number, the first three octets 192.168.1. If it's anything else, we can work on that.

ok, I know where you mean... By the way, this mac is an OS 9 and connecting thru DSL... I went to the Edit screen --> Preferences --> site passwords; and that's where I updated the info in the username... it says site: 192.168.1.1

Does your DSL modem handle the PPPoE/A login or do you have a router that has a PPPoE shim? TCP/IP has no way of authenticating you with your ISP, that's the responsibility of a different protocol. If you have a router, you should have selected Ethernet and DHCP. Is your router's DHCP server functioning properly? Any other possible issues in your network installation?

On MacOS9 you can find your network parameters (in this case, the IP address given you by the DHCP server) by utilizing the Apple System Profiler in the Apple Menu.
