I used RASPPPOE under win98 for some time with no problems.

I, too, have recently started encountering the "blue screen of death" using RASPPPOE after switching to Win2k. I get anywhere from 0 sec to 30 minutes of connect time before the fatal stop occurs. The timing of the stop is totally unpredictable, but the stop is inevitable.

I checked out the Microsoft technical note, which mentions outdated drivers under NT4. I'm already upgraded to Win2k SP2, so the relevance of the MS note to my situation is unclear.

After a lot of monkeying around, I believe that I have isolated my problem to some sort of driver or configuration conflict between RASPPOE and my Cisco VPN software (VPN5000 client version 4.2). When VPN5000 is installed (not necessarily running), the blue screens occur. After removing VPN5000 today, I've had hours of clear sailing.

Cisco claims to be RASPPPOE-compatible in an earlier version of their software. Aside from upgrading to the latest, greatest VPN version, does anybody have suggestions for configuration checks I should make?

Very frustrating problem since the entire purpose of my home machine is for VPN access to the lab.
