It matters not to me that there are 1.4M others who are happy (or that I'm in the same boat with 499 others.)<br><br>If I rely on e-mail for something critical (perhaps I'm a SOHO user who has a small business) then <B>to me</B> this is a disaster, Bell's "doing the right thing" (refunding me a few days of HSE) notwithstanding.<br><br>The target should be zero failures. Any number above that is itself a failure. Those companies who ignore this principle do so at their (not inconsiderable) risk. It's also how such companies develop a (deserved) reputation for being arrogant.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[my3cents4 posted : thats the wrong way to look at it. failure rate was 100% for x amount of days. with that arguement the agent will offer to refund you 100% for x amount of days. you realize your paying less than a dollar a day for the service bell provides you for dsl internet ?<br><br>most ppl spend more on coffee or bus fare per day.<br><br>i trust that a company the size of bell will do right by these ppl. they are saying it will be resolved withing 7 days. to me that tells me that they have admitted an issue , they dont do that often and if at this point they are admitting an issue they are pouring a few dollars into the issue to resolve it.]]></description>

So to get an accurate idea, they should look at the hundreds affected by the problem out of the number of accounts involved in the transition. <description><![CDATA[my3cents4 posted : a couple of hundred migrations didnt go smoothly..id like to see any other organization make the same shift with a 0 percent issue rate. how many admins with under a couple hundred users cant even keep things up to date. now we are talking potentially 1.4 million members not including the child accounts and a few hundred have an issue. <br><br>i agree its no fun for those that are part of that couple hundred...but you can bet when all is said and done bell is gonna bend over backwards to compensate those users. <br><br>it sure is easy to take shots at the big guy. ]]></description>

"I just want my system to keep working like it's always worked."<br><br>The MSN e-mail service offers such additions as more storage space, junk-mail filters and virus scanners.<br><br>Costanzo said Bell Canada, which owns Sympatico, decided to operate in a dual e-mail environment so customers such as Barker wouldn't be forced to make the switch to MSN. He said the dual system was tested before implementation, and some customers were proactively contacted by Sympatico to deal with the problems Bell found.<br><br>Unforeseen problems are still popping up, however.<br><br>A special "transition team" has been assembled to deal with issues arising from the dual environment, Costanzo said, adding that the number of affected customers is small. <br><br>"It's certainly in the hundreds, not in the thousands," he said. <br><br>The problems of many have already been solved.
