Microsoft → Re: Order your FREE XP SP2 Update CD

Fat City was obviously one of those who got in on the less than 24 hour, off and on, window of opportunity three weeks ago. Fat City is being facetious, I'm sure as since that small window disappeared the link has there, but the site is dead. So, I don't see how anyone could praise Microsoft for only allowing a lucky few who were able to get the order through to receive it quickly. Of course, there were so few orders before Microsoft stopped the process that naturally those few orders would most likely be processed quickly.

Or maybe they decided they were only going to accept so many orders from the site -- or perhaps they weren't ready for the overwhelming response and cut it short so they could deliver them in a timely manner?

I'm glad to hear those who were fortunate to get an order are starting to receive their CD's. Way to go Microsoft!

Is there more and better stuff on this CD than just downloading SP2 yourself and burning a CD?

Take me at face value, Marilyn, please. I'm not being facetious at all. When I ordered the CD, I was told that I would receive it in 4 to 6 weeks. It came in 19 days! Microsoft gets my praise for that as well as for their efforts to disseminate this important service pack.

I already downloaded SP2 already and burned it on CD. But I was hoping the Microsoft issued CD was available again.
Oh well.
