gdm posted : True but SBC marketing doesn't think logically so don't count on it being just $10 more if they ever do come out with it again. Then again it's SBC and you can't figure out what will happen next :)

succotash7 posted : By the way, the 1.5-6.0mbps/384-608kbps speed tier is once again available from Sonic.net and DSLExtreme, if you happen to be in their service areas. The Sonic.net promotion is through tomorrow ($54.95/month the first year, $69.95 thereafter, 8 static bridged IPs), and the DSLExtreme promotion is through November 13 ($59.95 /month for life, your choice of 5 dynamic or 5 static IPs).

gdm posted : Well it's a little more complicated then that. It was only advertised at 3meg max speeds. We were just told by some birdies that the 3meg service would be uncapped. Then after they saw it was a hit they came out with the pro package.

So in a way they never really lied or offered the anything higher then 3megs for $44.99;)

gdm posted : That plan was only for a limited time from feb. to april of this year.

In order to get a 6meg package you would have to go through the business side and ask for the 6meg 5 static package for $99. There have been rumors that SBC could be offering the 6meg dynamic package some time soon but no concrete proof or what the price would be. I doubt it will be $44.99 which is what we all are paying on the expert plus.

Want More Speed

snpperhd posted : Just rejoined SBC DSL on the Pro Plan (1.5-3.0), I'm approx. 3000 ft from the RT and want to increase my speed. I've read in this forum where an Expert Plus service (3.0-6.0) was available. I contacted SBC to see if I could get this plan, or at least get uncapped considering I'm so close to the RT, but each department acts like they've never heard of the word uncapped. It also seems that this Expert Plus plan is no longer provided, only grand-fathered customers. Is there a way to have my line uncapped, allowing me more speed, although there's no price plan available? If so, who would I call? Thanks for your time and any help.

snpperhd
