yah, maybe. It just seems way harder (maybe practically impossible?) than direct transfer of a whole music file to prove that (a) you had a substantial part of the movie, or (b) you knew what you were dl'ing (or (c) that you even knew you were uploading something, or... probably clever people on this forum can think of other difficulties). I would think that it would be harder to make statistical arguments, too, because music gives 1000's of files to track for big sharers, but most ppl prob. share way fewer movies at a time

maybe the MPAA hopes to not deal with these q's at all, maybe just try to intimidate & get out-of-court settlements.

I think they'll primarily target distributers of the movies, rather than the downloaders.
