[BroadVoice] Broadvoice and VOIP Cable Modem

Hello,

I have a VOIP Cable Modem. I used to use it for Optimum Voice from Cablevision (Optimum Online). This is the modem that I use currently and it is build in VOIP together. Can I use this cable modem as my BYOD?

I'm not really sure what that device you have is. Whether or not it is proprietary or not. Or password protected. If it is freely accessible, I don't see why you couldn't use it. They should send you the settings you will need.

First- I believe your modem uses MGCP protocol for VoIP, so you couldnt connect it to broadvoice anyway.

Second- all the settings for the modems are downloaded from the headend when you boot the modem. Try going to »192.168.100.1 (that works on most Motorola modems), if theres nothing about VoIP info then you're SOL.
