JorSlz posted : I just want to let you know the information that I have from DLINK Costumer Support about the Lingo VOIP Router Model# DVG-1402S/L

My problem was that while I am on the phone my Internet bandwidth drops dramatically from 5000Mbps downstream and 384 Kbps upstream to 247Kbps downstream and to 27 upstream.
And my question was why this is happening and the guy from DLINK Tech support told me that because of QoS, the LINGO VOIP ROUTER DVG-1402S_L will allocate all (or most) of the available resources to the phone portion of the unit and leave very little resources for his Internet connection. That's Why the sound quality is very good. And
When the DVG-1402S_L is connected behind the Linksys router, or any other router the QoS of the Lingo VOIP ROUTER DVG-1402S_L is not enabled and is kept from allocating the bandwidth resources to the phone function of the unit. And that's Why the internet bandwidth doesn't drop dramatically, that's mean that the internet speed still the same.

But maybe next week or in two weeks will be a firmware update available to fix the Qos and the call id and more. I hope that they fix it next week because I dont want to have two routers connect it.

So, this was my Review about the Lingo VOIP Router DVG-1402S/L (problem: Internet bandwidth drops dramatically While I am on the Phone.)

JorSlz
New York

caseydoug posted : Sounds like the DLink DVG-1402S/L is too aggressive with its QOS. I don't know this device, but is there a setting for QOS, call priority, or a similar parameter? Maybe it's set too high.

Gr8Reb8 posted : If you have a new router (up to date one), try placing the Dlink behind the router. There should be no need for setting it up for DMZ or special ports.
I have found the two following routers work very well in front of the DLink; Linksys WRT54G and Motorola WR850G.
JorSlz posted : Thanks to the greatest Lingo tech staff my problem was solved and the problem was that I had the wrong MAC address on the system. They put the right one and everything was working immediately, the sound with the dlink DVG_1402S/L adapter I think is better than the lingo adapter and Every time that I call from my DLINK LINGO adapter to my another Lingo adapter I have the number and my name on the call id, and I told them about this and they told me that they don't support call id with name but may work sometimes when you call from the dlink adapter to the lingo adapter but this is happen only when I call from my DLINK adapter to my another lingo adapter, sound weird but Everything is working fine now and I am happy with their services.

JorSlz

Today I attempted to get one working for my brother. It has the same symptoms you describe. After I reboot the DLink, the various status lights flash and then the "prov" light stays on solid and the status light turns off. On the one that works, the "prov" light will flash and then go off and the status light will stay on solid.
