<description><![CDATA[oKubricko posted : Once again, thanks for the help.  I believe the problem lies somewhere with the Speedsteam USB 4060 modem.  It loads up so many adapters and protocols I've never even heard of, so I think I should be getting my install kit from EL today, so hopefully that will settle the problem.<br>If I was at home I would put every thing that is loaded into this message.  Maybe I'll post them when I go home at lunch.  Even if I do get the kit today, I would like to figure this out. It just bugs me to be so close yet so far.  By the way, the VPI / VCI settings are 0/35. <description><![CDATA[ravenink posted : Well as far as changing the pvc info (which sounds like it could very well be the problem)<br><br>Open the Network Control Panel and double-click the ENI 4060 SpeedStream (02) RFC 1483 Ethernet PVC Client <br>On the SpeedStream Properties tab, click on the Update tab. <br>Navigate to the folder where the new 4060 drivers are and double click the 1483.acf file. <br>A Welcome dialog will appear, click Next. <br>Enter the VPI and VCI (8/35 or 0/35) settings. <description><![CDATA[oKubricko posted : I installed the earthlink software because I figured I would have to sign onto the EL network some way.  Today I removed all drivers and software.   EL, Speedstream and WinPOET.  Then I reloaded everything in this order.  EL, Speedstream and then WinPOET.  Once again, the modem synched ( solid green light and the speedstream software said I was connected to the network ), but I could not browse via explorer.  I tried to logon using the EL connection and it said the EL software could not make a connection throught the modem.  I'm clueless here with this USB speedstream modem and the EL software. Shutoff your modem/unplug power supply and remove phone jack. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then reverse order startup -- plug in the phone jack, turn the modem on, and restart your computer.<br><br>Sometimes they need a little coaxing to get a sync ;).<br><small>--<br>Peace! :)</small>]]></description>

In the meantime, it should work just fine, although you might have to adjust the VPI/VCI settings for Covad, which I believe are 35/0 (but I'm not sure on that).  After you get the drivers installed, and get sync on the DSL modem, you should then be able to connect with the PPPoE software.]]></description>
