rick1991 posted : If that is the case then think about this. You could develop cancer just because you are alive and living in this day and age. All those radio waves bouncing around in the world are passing through all of us, even as we sit here in the "safety" of our own homes. I'm sure their have been cases of Acoustic Neuromas years before cell phones were wide spread. This is almost as bad as some of the people in my town who cry and whine that "my cell phone service sucks, I can't get any reception at home, I wish they would build a cell phone tower around here so my phone will work when I'm at home." When someone steps up to the plate and finally offers to build a cell phone tower close to them they all become instant NIMBYs and whine about it being ugly or decreasing their property value or the radiation will harm our children etc. Supposedly when microwave ovens first started becoming popular the food that you cooked in them was supposed to cause cancer as well. I've been using cell phones for years now and the only adverse thing I have ever been diagnosed with as a result of said phone usage is lighter pockets, although the doctor is still at a loss as to what would cause me to be growing another arm out of my right ear:D, maybe this explains it.

wifi4milez posted : We just cant win! As much as some people would like us to believe that everything we do will shorten our lives, things are not that different than they were 150 years ago if you think about it. While people living in the 1800's certainly did not need to worry about cancer from cell phones, they had plenty of other things that could kill them to deal with. The life expectancy has been steadily increasing for the past 100 years or so, and will continue to go up. I would bet that part of the reason that less people died due to cancer in 1900 was that they did not live long enough for it to develop. Either that or the doctors just didnt know what killed them. What about the plague, or polio? People used to die from infections caused by not brushing their teeth! Lets get serious for a minute here. There is no question that cancer is a terrible disease, but if there was ever a "good" time to have the affliction, this would be it. Doctors today are much better suited to treat and potentially remove or cure cancer if it is caught early enough. Generally speaking, we go to the doctor much more frequently now than people did even 30 years ago. This gives medical science a much better opportunity to help us if something is wrong. In the mean time, LIVE YOUR LIFE. If you are so worried about the hazards of modern life then move in with the Amish, or to a deserted island. Only then you will appreciate what technology and good medical care REALLY means........
--
I like dogs, guns, and cheeseburgers. Whats your malfunction?
