[XP] Driving Me NUTS!!Local Area Connection on Linux IGD WTF???? I can not get it to go away. What is it? I'm not running Linux. DSL Modem is a Acction(sp?)tec? with Qwest. Help? |

The Local Area Connection on Linux IGD, is just the dsl modem. it is not a computer.

It has never been there before though. I got rid of a ton of spyware/adware today (gf's computer here having problems) could there be something wrong still? Did a virus scan too. This came up after I did all of that. |

Chill out! It is just Windows automatically finding an Internet Gateway. You probably had it turned off before and you just recently enabled the setting. And ditto: said by slasherx:it's nothing to wet yourself over |

I guess I wouldn't worry about it to much other than sometimes the internet just stops working sometimes. And yes, other computers on the network are still working fine. (Guess I should have added that) |

You want that to go away uninstall the "Internet Gateway Device Discovery and Control Client" in "Network Services" "Windows Components" in Add/Remove Programs.
The reason I says Linux is your modem or router is based on a Linux kernel and the service is picking up on it. |
