EUREKA!
Turns out my new version of McAfee anti-virus with those "firewall" like features was blocking my e-mail when I was trying to send a web link from within Firefox. It apparently spawns a sub-process called "THUNDE~1.EXE" which I had to add to McAfee's access protection exclude processes list. |
