[Packet8] Down?

Was talking to someone and it just dropped. Been a fast busy signal ever since. Tryied unplugging the DTA, but same results. Anyone else having a problem?

Try to message member P8support.
He seems to be a key player in Packet 8. He might be able to help you if there is an problem.
Also check your internet connection and make sure everything is still connected and such. If not do the deed and call Tech Support.

Same thing here with a 337 area code.

Turned on debugging, and the DTA is sending register packets to Packet8, but not getting anything back.

My call quality got horrible before this happened too. All I get is a fast busy.

Well, now I have a dial tone. No ring or anything though, even after another reset.

Oh well, growing pains, I guess. I still have the cell phone.

Same thing. I was on the phone and was disconnected, and I cannot call back. The person I was talking to is also a packet8 users and I can't even call that number from my cell.

Let's all keep our finger crossed.

Sorry! I thought I was ok because I got a dial tone. However I can't make any calls. Dial a number and nothing happens.

Was on the phone for the last 4 hours solid. No problems. I know I have problems with some elements of the service (voicemail for one) but... it always works for me. AND, I'm also a fan of VoicePulse.
Edit... I'm just tired of people wailing when a problem doesnt exist.

We are also tracking the outage in our forums as well.
Please post where you are with area code and location, when it went out and when you come back up.

Thanks

They could save a lot of CS calls if they would just post that info on their web site (and a lot of me running around rebooting everything). If not for BBR, I wouldn't know what was going on.

I would have to disagree. A telephone can be just as important as anything else. I believe it is only fair to track network outages to compare uptimes versus other VOIP services.

My first instinct would be that you wouldn't want to post a network outage on a website that could be viewed by potential customers.

However, that could be avoided by

a: Posting on the login page when you log into your account
b: Having some sort of message when you attempt to dial out
c: Pushing some sort of message to your vm

(in case anyone from p8 is reading)

It is on their web site:

1/24/2005: 5:40pm PST: We are experiencing a partial network outage we working to restore the service as soon as possible. Virtual Office customers are not affected by this outage, we do apologize for the inconvenience.

(Mine went out around 8PM EST area code 304

Trust a technology as new as VoIP as much as you should with intelligent prudence. DUH! Packet8 is one of the best as far as online reliability that's out there. Learn, buddy!

Dead here in the far south Chicago burbs... Rebooting the DTA let me place a single short call but now all calls give me dead air... Wonder if this is more "upgrades" It serves me right for signing up mom and sis this month after a long and fairly reliable span of service now all hell is breaking loose so they can update voice mail... I sure do wish that this was all for more than a voice mail upgrade. I could certainly put up with the poor level of service we've been receiving if they were going to add features like caller ID name and E911 availability to more than just a handful.
