Mags is probably going to the Tigers - $55 mil for 5 years. Best he's gonna get I think. Maybe with some incentives if he's healthy, and I hear there will be some sort of give-back if his knee is dodgy. |

Yea I heard if he goes on the DL with that knee there would be giveback. Also I heard that only 2 years are guaranteed out of the 5. Don't ask me how that could be......;) |

Well, the offer from Tigers (was for 5/55 which is still lower than the 5/70 that KW had offered earlier) had built-in riders that if Maggs were to re-injure that knee, the contract would be voiding itself.
It also has a club option for 3rd year and a player option for the 4th. Something similar to what Frank Thomas has, but a little less complicated. |
