Personally I tend to keep what works when it comes to networking firmware. A mix of a great new feature and a solid set of reviews for stability and I would change. I kept the default firmware for almost a year but kept reading about the Alchemy and HyperWrt with interest. After having a minor trojan problem, I really felt the loss of the logging function, so I took the opportunity to load up HyperWrt. Very happy I did. I am now logging again and have even better coverage around the house.
Once again I am very happy with my home network. I keep an eye out for the next big thing, so continue to read threads like this one. I kind of believe my next change will involve new technology though but I will wait for stability on that front as well.
I would agree though most people who would update their firmware have moved on to modified firmware. |
