No, your a little off of the rates. A 1080i Dolby Digital HD feed has a max of 19.4Mbps, not MB/s. It depends on the cable provider. Some may scramble the analog signals and encrypt the digital ones. You should be able to get CBS, ABC, FOX at least. I have Comcast and when I did the scan it found over 100 channels including the digital music channels. I don't know if it matters what service you subscribe to as I do have digital cable.

What's even nicer than having the DVR is splitting the cable feed and running one directly to the display. If you have a QAM tuner you can record two programs on different channels at the same time while watching a third program on the ANT input. That's what I did last night. I was recording The Apprentice and American Idol while watching the CBS-HD basketball game. Then when the programs were over I started recording the basketball game while I watched the two shows I recorded. I then switched back to the beginning of the basketball recording and after FF past the commercials and half time program I eventually caught up to the live feed.

Conclusion is if I adjust the 6412 to send a 480p or 1080i signal using a DVI, I should have all the channels. I thought I tried both those settings without luck. But I try again and double check.

OK. It's a limitation of your TV and not the DVR. The previous post alluded to it being a DVI limitation and that flat out is not true but thanks.
Also the DVR's "stretch" is "dumb". The Pani's "Justify" is nicer in that it pretty much leaves the center image undistorted and favors elongating the edges. More visually pleasing IMHO.

It's Menu. You can also access the diagnsotics menu on the STB by pressing "select" within 2 seconds of turning off the STB. There is a great link for explanation of these menus here.

This can be accessed by pressing (menu)key on the front of the cable box (while the cable box is powered off).

You probably won't be able to see the settings on the television being its not set right but you will be able to see them displayed on the front of the cable box.

Check out pages 9 thru 12 of this manual.
