Amazing how they can manage to get that through to us but all the real mail I'm waiting for that people have phoned and said they've sent is still missing.  Still taking way over an hour to 'send' anything.<br>What I've done is 'copy and paste' the spam e-mail they sent and mailed it back to them through the business office on the Verizon site with a polite complaint (?????)attached. They may be blocking ICMP at their firewalls or even have the server not responding to ICMP Echo requests.<br><br>The key is to see if you can telnet to the server on port 25.  Go to Start->Run, type 'cmd' (for 2k, XP, NT) or 'command' (for 98, etc) and press 'OK'.  At the prompt type<br><div class="code"><PRE><span class="codetext">telnet outgoing.verizon.net 25</SPAN></PRE></DIV>If you get stuck at "trying to connect" it's down.  If it goes to a plain balnk screen, you have connected to the SMTP daemon, but it isn't properly working. <title>Verizon exceeds USPS Standards - No delivery</title>

<description><![CDATA[lrmayer posted : Well -- was able to send ONE Email -- others timed out.  Received a "SPAM" Email from Verizon (regarding PDA security)  but at least four other emails sent early this morning from Nebraska (middle of the olde USA - NOT Europe)have not yet arrived in Verizon Email boxes, and probably never will!  This has to be the worst Email situation ever -- completely unreliable.<br><br>What is the situation of using Port 25 for other Email SMTP servers -- I plan to move ALL my email accounts off of Verizon  -- only problem is sending via another server to be solved.]]></description>

Can't get them on the phone, "Lines too busy, call back"  Can't get support on line "Lines to busy, try again later". Can't get any information, " Pages unavailable".  Keep getting that infuriating javax.mail message, or 'Server not responding" or "Enter my password"  then hangs on 'authorizing'.<br>Now a total of 2 weeks with barely any service and what little I've had has been disgustingly slow, and last night they had the audacity to send me an e-mail saying pay my bill by April 7th or I'll be disconnected.  I have the darn receipts in my hand where I'm paid up through April 8th 2005.]]></description>
