Re: Line statsJust for a further explanation into your stats eeh42, having a noise margin level on the downstream side of anything 6 or below, would indicate that the sync is definitely dropping if not completely out. 6dB is the threshold for a solid synchronization. Since at the time of your posting these stats it was 5, shows that something is definitely causing problems on your line that is not related to your distance (which is also an issue) possible bad filters on your line, or a phone that is not filtered at all. Try isolating your line down to just the dsl modem and check the stats again (namely the noise margin) and see if it is above 6dB. Also if all else fails you can check the stats at the NID. There is a link somewhere on here that shows exactly how to do so, ill try to find it. |

Roastedbagel and Nwrickert, Thanks for the feedback. I've not had a problem, no drops or anything. Maybe just lucky so far, I did some rewiring in the attic and removed 2 unnecessary connections that were in the line. Maybe that will help.
If you find that link that let you check your stats I'd appriciate it.
Thanks, eeh |
