I love GoDaddy too, but I can't back them up on this one. I think they're really just mad about all the $'s they'll be losing from the $7.95 privacy option. The email was also spam to me as I don't have a .us domain and don't use the private reg option on any of my domains. Why did this go out to every GD customer?
Going forward, maybe they should pursue an agreed upon method of maintaining private reg records with the DoC. I think there are valid reasons not to publish street addresses at the very least. But GD needs to actually work this out up front with the DoC, not go off and try it on there own. Just as there are valid reasons for privacy there are valid reasons for public info as well. Just need to find the balance... |
