[BT] new computer....slower downloadsI recently bought a new computer i have the same internet hardware from my last one but when i got to use bit torrent i i can not seem to get more then 20kb/s i used to get 200kb/s why is it worse on my new computer? |

torrent speeds do not coincide with computer speeds, but how many seeds there are and a lot of factors none of them having to do with what system you have. |

If you recently bought a new computer, it may be that the computer is not configured correctly to fully optimize it's performance on the internet. I suggest you go to the test+tools page and take the tweak test to see if your computer is set up correctly.
What was the speed of your old computer and what is the speed of your new computer? Older computers that are slower, can have a difference in what speeds you are getting simply because they do not have enough resources and CPU to handle bittorrent efficiently. |

does your new PC have window XP service packe 2?
what about windows firewall. need to allow bittorrent and the ports in windows FW.
SP2 has TCPIP connection limited to 10 at a time and put other connection into a queue. there are patches for that.
I also recommend the tools at BBR.
