One of our routers was keeling over due to heavy utilization.

Possibly a DOS attack or something really mis-behaving. It seems to be under control now. I know that guys here have been working on it.

Don't know yet what was the final verdict.

Faisal

starryman posted : Hey I experienced the outage about 3:30ish pm - 04/08/05. I was doing my work on the web, went to the bathroom, came back and nothing... Thought it was my router, modem, or just my computer... Did the whole power down and up cycle and nothing.

I called up Snappy and was told immediately that there's a technical problem without any time frame of when it will be fixed. They are working on it as stated.

I just find it odd that the Snappy website is down too. The last big outage a few months back the site was down for some time as well. Isn't there a redundant website so that we can check up on the network status?

Needless to say, even with this outage, Snappy still is the very best DSL provider and while not perfect, the most consistent. They are my 4th DSL provider I've had in 3 states (MN, CA, FL) over the last 5 years or so. A tad more expensive and in this case you truly get what you pay for. Excellent support and hopefully they will get this resolved soon... FYI - I'm located in Boca Raton. I'm using my AOL dial up access to make this post.
