What do you think would win in a race? The mustang from that video or a 2005 SL65 AMG?? Seeing that the SL is a ferrari killer, I would say the SL would win, but any other opinions?

what difference does it make? the damn cobra has a supercharger.... put that on the TA and see who wins...... id take a supercharged 97 TA over a stang any day

Guys just remember one thing. If you throw enough money at a barn door you could probably get it to accelerate to the speed of sound.
The kid who owns the TA seriously has his priorities mixed up if he is pumping $2500 a month into that car while living in a 2 bedroom apartment.

I dont believe he is putting 2500 a month into that and only has head/cam, air intake and MAF.. but i dont know his whole parts list.

Just putting a supercharger on a LT1 Trans Am would probably result in Pistons,Rods and the Crank lying on the ground somewhere well before it ever puts down the power of a Modded 03-04 Cobra...Build the Bottom end to take it,And thats a different story...Would still need alot of work though...Supercharging a ls1 is a much better Idea...

But what do I know...I only have a little 231 V6 In my Grand National....

I think the Mercedes would take a stock cobra easily in a 60mph and up Race....But about $1000-$1500 in the cobra,And they are about even I would say...With the Cobra having more potential to go even faster.

In a straight line maybe but when it comes to actually turning the steering wheel it will be left in the dust.

Come to think it....Your right!!But for some reason,With the Turbo that is on the car now...(Precision 71-GTQ) It really doesn't whistle much at all....With the smaller turbos I've had on the car,They could be heard from a block away.

Having a Grand National doesn't mean you know anything about cars, engines, or supercharging as your comment demonstrates. You simply couldn't be more wrong.

For many many years in stock showdowns with any car mag around--the GM products ALWAYS beat the mustang. Supercharging would not blow the bottom end unless you go overboard.

What exactly is it that im incorrect about???That a a65AMG wont walk a stock cobra??Wont put a beating on it from a 60mph Roll??Since I have seen one in action...Stock cobra doesnt have a prayer.Or maybe you know of some miracle Lt1 that can just have a supercharger thrown on it,And put down 600 To the wheels?

03-04 Cobras have a fully built Forged bottom end from the factory...Supplied to ford by Manley....They have shown to be able to handle tremendous amounts of power.Not uncommon to see them putting 600hp at the wheels...If you think you are going to do that with a LT1 Car without building the whole bottom end,You are the one who couldnt be more wrong.

Guys who drop 200K on a car,and can afford it,doesn't care about Stangs and F-bodies enough to even care who wins. Thats like asking is Mach 3 or 4 fast enough for an aircraft owned by a non military person, or country. When price is part of the equation, then there is discussion. When there is no limiting faction on cost. Its usually the one with the bucks and smarts, who wins.
