Well, I had enoughI'm done with WoW.  Horde has completely destroyed our PVE server. They are EVERYWHERE. We're locked out of MC + Onx as both are clear. The only place we have left are parts of Darnassus and Ironforge. Horde can't get near it. We all put GM tickets in and they said "sorry, can't do anything". So if you're on my server, you get the grind or you die. Regardless, I'm taking a LONG break. |

Whew, I'm REALLY glad I left after that last major patch. I had high hopes this upcoming patch will be fine because I was kinda sure they learned from their last mistake...but I guess I was wrong. Funny my friend called me up today and said he can't download the new patch. He's still new to WoW, so I told him to wait until tomorrow that Tuesdays are bad days. Mike, I agree you should take the break, like what I'm doing. Actually, wait for Battlegrounds to come out since you're saying you'll take a long break. I would wait a month after Battlegrounds is released to save you some time/money for them to beta test it on the whole live population. |

I would say that maybe you should try one of the grown-up's servers, but if you're complaining about horde on a bluebie server, you probably wouldn't last very long on a pvp one. |

All the NPCs are dead. Stormwind is a horde town at this point. All the flight masters are dead. There is one guild on the alliance in MC (us, we cleared it) and one on horde (they cleared it).
I logged on this morning (I was in Southshore) and my PvP flag finally went off, I guess I'm riding to ironforge on my purple kitty. |

Same on my server. All of the major instances are blocked off by Horde. Entire guilds are camping flight sites and killing flight masters. Groups of Horde patrol Eastern and Western Plaguelands hungry for kills. Even if you travel in groups, you'll be vastly outnumbered. The only way to level it seems is to have your whole guild escort you. Hopefully the dust settles. But will it ever, considering that everyone wants to be #1 in PVP kills?
The sad part is that the Alliance vastly outnumber the Horde, but only a few guilds are fighting back. |

WoW, it must be carebear city on your server...on BH, we had a great time raiding back and forth...except for the lag, which was unbelievable at times.
I logged almost 300 HK's.
I have a couple screen shots of us dominating TM and HF...and before you say that it's a newb town, well at least 50-70 level 60 horde isn't a newbfest. |

all that will die down once the initial fun has worn off. How many times would YOU be able to sit there and kill the same NPC over and over?
the patch has been in for less than 24 hours. people are still enamored by it. give it time and it will subside.
Stormwind sucks anyways. burn it to the ground! |

I do agree stormwind sucks, but it's a major flight path. You have to e-bay style fly-snipe him before he dies within 4 seconds. Our server is about a 1:1 ratio of horde and alliance. Horde are the PvPers (even before patch) and the alliance are instance people. They're mowing goldshire and southshore, we're killing majordomo with our epic sets. PS, here's a preview of what domo drops. We now had an insentive to beat his monkey ass. |

I have 3 HKs. I was between 1000ms-3000ms last night when I'm usually between 20ms and 100ms.
Tried an instance and it was unplayable. Tried raiding TM, and it was unplayable. After I flew to IF from SS with no Griffon (didn't show up till halfway there due to lag) I logged.
The thing that bothers me about the new system is while I'm working right now, someone is still racking up kills. There's no way I have a chance for elite gear. |

Blackrock was pretty sick last night. Pings ranging from 2k to 10k, and actions that take 10 seconds to come out. I did manage to rack up about 350 HKs in an 40 man raid in Hillsbrad, but it seems this system promotes players who have the most time, not the most skill.

I logged on around 9pm EST into STV and the lag was horrific for about 10 minutes, then it stabilized and was fine. Was some goodtimes last night.
We had some Horde at Gromgol trying to protect the zeppelin route. Alliance was trying to overrun us and jump on board and head to Ogrimmar. |

yea thats going to suck if i cannot ever get to even epic mount level via honor system because:
1. i have a job
2. when done with said job i dont play WoW until i sleep
i havent started playing after the new patch yet, but it sure sounds like the chinese farmer style players whose job it is to play wow will own the honor system. =( |

I look at it this way.
The amount of PVP going on last night helped Blizzard with determining Load issues. They can analyze the data and use it to help update their servers.
And your right, unfortunately, the Honor system seems to benefit power gamers more. Since rank is determined on the amount of honorable kills you attain in a week, casual players will have no hope of keeping up.
But keep this in mind, in order to keep using this special gear, the players will have to keep up that level of play. So the upside is that powergamers have a better chance of burn out. So maybe eventually after a month or so, the amount needed will lower then stabilize and casual gamers like us might have a chance. Just have to wait and see. |

I think it will depend on how much honor you need to gain/maintain officer status. Grand Marshall is nuts; you would have to play all the time and pvp the whole time to get to that level.
But is it possible for the casual player, who can "only" play 15-20 hours a week, to get officer status for the lower level blue armor? If not, then the honor system is a big waste of time for me.
On the other hand, even without any rewards, I like the idea of constant PvP all the time. Makes it seem like a war zone. |

I think it would work better if it was based on earning a rank of honor, not in kills in a week, but in kills total. Dishonor hurts your total, but in the end if it takes you 2 days to get 1000 kills for rank 2 or 2 weeks to get 1000 kills the reward should be the same. This allows the casual player to eventually gain the same bonus that power gamers do... |

From what I understand though, rank is based on a sustained level of kills. So someone getting 1000 in a week will never achieve the same rank as someone maintaining 5000 a week. Thats how I understand. Granted we don't fully know the formula so maybe it doesn't matter if your a power gamer or a casual player. |

The problem with that is that then everyone would eventually get it. I definately like the idea of rewarding the "best" players. If everyone got to grand marshall, then we're all the same. I want to have super powers! Haven't you see the Incredibles?
Also, I am very happy that dishonor means nothing. There is no way to avoid dishonorable kills. Last night I was in a 40 man raid fighting in Arathi. The Horde had a 40 man raid too. Each raid had players from 40 to 60. When I rush into a big group of horde (or drop a AoE spell), I can't help but hit a 40 every once in a while. Do you think players should be penalized for that?
I wouldn't worry too much about the griefing, because there is no incentive for 60s to kill 45. Last night everyone was going nuts, and just attacking everything in sight. But I think that will settle down, and the ganking will go back to what it was before. |

While I didn't have the yellow thing flash on screen, when I checked the honor tab, it still would give credit for an honorable kill. Dunno if that means those actually did count, or if they'll contribute to ranking. I recommend xroads btw, it's so close to ogrimar that the big boys do come out and play. |

I killed a level 35 shaman (I am 54) when i was ungrouped and there was no one else around (the 60 mage that had killed me earlier was gone). I didn't get a dishonorable kill. I didn't get an honorable kill either.
I don't usually attack people who are lower than me; I was just curious. |
