Re: [Info] Atheros v3.3.2.4 drivers (for DWL-G650)

I don't know if this happened in earlier Atheros drivers (or even D-Link drivers), but I noticed that the Atheros v4.0.0.167 is causing my CPU usage to go berserk. It doesn't hit 100%, which I thank. But it does however, when my CPU is idle (and I closed all background services, etc...), it's 99% idle, but CPU usage would go anywhere from 0% to below 30% at random points, on average around 15% or a bit lower.

To confirm that it was the wireless adapter, I disabled the wireless adapter, and guess what? My CPU idle hits 0% and stays that way. Once I enable it, it goes berserk again.

This is all on an Intel Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz with HyperThreading technology. I have yet to try D-Link drivers to verify, but I don't remember D-Link drivers giving me berserk CPU usage.
