1- "but the di 634m seems to be a new product" It's not really new anymore. It was actually one of the first MIMO devices out. It came out around Dec '04. It may have only recently become available in Europe though.

2 - "so wonder why its better" Um, it's better because it has MIMO ability, regular di-624 & di-624s do not have MIMO. My explaination of MIMO function explains "why" that makes it better. However, since it was one of the first out, back at the beginning of the year, I think other brands may have produced better implementations by now, namely Netgear.

3 - Beware that this product is still new enough to have driver issues. Also, compare it to Netgear's design and the new Linksys SRX gear. The fact that it has a faster processor may be good as the DI-624c seems to still be very performance starved.

Here's some reviews:

»compnetworking.about.com ··· home.htm
»www.circuitcity.com/ccd/ ··· fhdfif.0

Hope this helps.

"regular di-624 & di-624s do not have MIMO"

I suspect that's not the answer he was seeking...

AH!, Opps. I was wondering why he was asking that. Okay. Will work on this one.

1 -The 634M does seem to have VPN passthrough, which one reviewer said the 624M didn't.
2 -It's got a sleek new look *lol*.

Maybe there are more antennas. Sorry about the off-response. Didn't catch the distinction. The 624m hasn't made a big splash, maybe this fixes several of the problems with it and they wanted to relaunch it to distinguish it from the not-so-hot 624m.
