I'm assuming that you want the obvious issue with the telephone line between your modem and the DSLAM fixed. That my friend will be repaired by the local repair people. Call repair and tell them that you have line issues when it rains and demand that they send a technician to your house, with the understanding that you will have to pay if it's not their issue. Schedule an appointment when you are home to speak with the repair person. If you don't want to go that route, order a second line, put DSL on it, and then cancel the DSL on the current line. Do something!

Slidetbone posted : Guys, you need to be smarter than the average bear here. ;)

If you know when it rains the DSL slows down and you know it is not due to moisture in the NID, do not call the DSL tech support group. These guys only deal with DSL. When they suspect an outage is caused by bad copper, they pass it on to Verizon (ILEC). See?

Why not call DSL TS? Because if is is not raining, the DSL works good, right? So you can be assured that it is not the DSL circuit that is at fault.

Bypass DSL TS and call directly to the ILEC. POTS service ALWAYS has a priority over anything the telco offers including DSL. You could tell them that you have DSL, but there is no need for that.

Bottom line is that the slowdown in the rain is definately a copper or leaky demarc issue.

In this case, DSL TS is a middleman.
Get the copper fixed first, then deal later with the DSL TS guys if there are other problems related to DSL.

Has anyone here called directly to the ILEC about this?
