1248/416?

I'm at 15,200 feet and originally had 768/128. Called a month or so ago and got upgraded to 1.5/384. All was fine. Checked my stats just now and I'm at 1248/416. Anyone else had this happen? I'm outside of Philly, PA.

Your modem will auto-sync to a lower rate because of line noise and problems.

Yikes! I just checked it. It's down to 6 db up and down. Used to be 11 to 15. I wonder what's up. I wonder if it's got anything to do with the heat around here in the last few days.

Has it rained lately? Might've been some line noise, maintainence..Try resetting the modem, should sync up at full.

Insder*. No problem. If you experienced bad DSL during the rain, probably some stripped wiring outside somewhere. Next time it rains, check if you have static on your phoneline. If you do, you can call Verizon Telco. and tell them you have static. They come out, find the problem, and also fix your DSL.

Hrm, that's really really odd. Well, that's good and bad. Bad that you have no phone, good that you can call Verizon Telco and bypass VOL completely. Run out to your NID and connect a phone to it, check for dialtone. If none, ring up Verizon Telco. and tell them you have no dialtone in house or at NID.

Yup. The good and bad. They should fix that pretty quick. Verizon's pretty good with handling telephone problems. Have they been working in your neighborhood/touched your outside wiring lately? Might've left a wire uninsulted or loose. The wire won't carry dialtone, but DSL will still work, just not at full speed.
