I called, and when the tech told me that the highest I could get was 1.5/384 even though I have 3.0/768 at 1300 feet, I decided to hang up before she downgraded me. |

There is none. Apparently it's a very limited employee-only trial so far. |

Assuming it works would they switch me from fast past to interleaved? It took a 2 hour phone call to get back to fast path when I got the 3mb plan. I'm thinking of trying tomorrow. Any other residential successes? |
|
| |
Speaking of fast path or not, how do I know if I'm interleaved or on fast path? |

on my versalink. Type » 192.168.1.1/ in a web browser Go to troubleshooting/statistics/dsl tranciever |

Call tech support and have them change you. Usually they will without issue. Mainly you'll see improved latency. When I had 7.1Mb I was on interleave and saw about 30ms of additional latency over fast path and about 1db lower noise margin. |

Cool. Now what are my levels supposed to be like so that it supports fast path with no problem? They look like this now. Transceiver Revision: 01.00.09.00 Vendor ID Code: 4 Line Mode: G.DMT Mode Data Path: Interleaved Transceiver Information Down Stream Path Up Stream Path DSL Speed (Kbits/Sec) 3360 864 Margin (dB) 17.5 10.0 Line Attenuation (dB) 27.5 16.0 Transmit Power (dBm) 16.8 11.0

You are on interleaved. Fast path is good for gaming and other latency sensitive apps. interleaved is more stable but when I switched to fast path it was still stable. Consider calling verizon to switch. |
|
| |
I'm only 5600 feet from the CO, I shouldn't have stability issues on either setting. |

Oh my God, how pleasant it is to deal with a clueless CSR.
I'm being told that I need to speak to sales about a speed upgrade. I'm clearly explaining that I just need to get the modem changed to fast path, and that it's currently on interleaved.
He's now "looking into other resources" about it.
*sigh* |

To switch interleaved to fast path... I was transfered from billing to tech, back to billing, back to tech, which finally tranfered me over to a guy who knew what I wanted. It took 2 hours had fun listening to the low quality music while on hold! |
