I returned 2 to best buy, first had 5 dead pixels, second had more than i could count. After returning the second, the store refused to let me get another new one and said they could only let me choose between the 5 dead pixel one or the other one.

I demanded a refund and they gave it to me but told me than they would not allow me to buy another one(I had bought the warrantee which they refunded also).

Long story short, I went to circuit city and got one with 0 dead pixels and it was the happiest time i had that week.

I'm never buy things from Best Buy that have the possibility of having a dead pixel again, just to avoid dealing with their rude fan-boy customer service who tell you that dead pixels are normal for ALL(not most) PSP systems.

At least I have my taintless PSP.

At 320 dollars (including warrantee) it damn well better not come with any dead pixels.

Wow. Then I wish you luck with all your future LCD-like purchases. Dead pixels are extremely common. And I can't believe one pixel would work you up so much. I have two dead pixels on mine, have had it since March, but the resolution is so high you can't even tell. That, and they're at complete opposite ends near the corners.

I also noticed that 2 of them had some color balance issues. Certain parts of the screen would have a red tint, while others were more green. Not always obvious, but it was easily noticed on a gray or white screen.

Also, take into consideration, you have a one year warranty through Sony for your PSP. If it gets worse, make a fuss. I believe Sony said they will help you out if you have an over abundance of dead pixels, something over 18 or whatever.

Thats false. I work for Best Buy Geek Squad, and The GS are the ones who determine whether electronics are broken or not. If they have a PSP (product service plan) it is sent out to our service center who is even less lenient.
