Re: There's a workaround:

I wonder if by transferring files to a PC, they are also installing a hidden driver via autorun that interferes ripping other music CD's? (Ala Velvet Revolver) Why would Sony BMG employ DRM, AND THEN give users a work around? Smells fishy...

My understanding is that this is exactly what they are doing with this Foo Fighters CD. I myself never would notice this because I have autorun turned off on all of my PCs. I've been doing this since Windows 95 came out because I just never liked how autorun worked and saw the potential for it to be dangerous. Even though I don't listen to MP3s or other compressed forms of music, I do sometimes play my music CDs on my PCs drive, especially at work (and listen with headphones).

It's just smart to turn autorun off (auto insert notification). "Copy protected" CDs have never been an issue for me. In fact, if it wasn't for other people complaining about it, I'd have never known that my Velvet Revolver CD is copy protected.

DRM is invisible to me, isn't a non-issue.
