Not to defend the skunk ISPs but there are few legitimate uses that generate that kind of traffic (100GB).

Your right IF all I did with my connection was download the distros, but we have to add the hour or so a day I may be playing Halo, and the mail and software I download, and the updates for the software I have on my machine, and....

You get the picture, my TOTAL download bandwidth for the month may EXCEED 100 Gig by the time I am done....:D

But what about the pictures from the kitchen remodel I just finished, that my mother in Florida wants to see, I need to UPLOAD those to a server so she can see them, and what about lil' John's birthday party pictures from last week that I need to upload for her too... Oh wait, NOW I am abusing the UPLOAD side of my connection, my ISP has just capped me, at 150K... :mad:
Strange that 1meg up is bad, if I use it, but I guess 24/7 as 150K is OK???:huh:

As the court system would say, you are not an impartial party, and therefore have no say in any of this. You already stated that you own an ISP. By definition, you have to pay money if people use lots of bandwidth. Therefore, it is in your best interest to accuse ANYONE of using bandwidth of criminal activity. Why? Because you stand to have a financial gain by implying that anyone who uses bandwidth is doing so for illegal purposes, which lowers the profit margins of your business. So the constitutional rights of a citizen lower your profit margin, and thus should be ignored in your world view.

Anything you say is irrelevant, since your post will be biased. It's not personal, it's just business. You win by making downloading ANYTHING illegal, since it lowers your cost. It's the same as a corporation which owns a prison accusing everyone of being a criminal in order to increase the incarceration rate, and thus increase their profits. Now, you personally may not be that way, but from your post, and the logical assumption that you want to maximize profit, I would not be out of line to accuse you of ignoring the law in order to increase your profit margin. The **AA's do it, why shouldn't you do it to?
